Integrated Building Energy Monitoring system based on wireless nodes (SIMENON)

The Intelligent Infrastructure Innovation Centre (CI3) foundation which is sponsored by Ferrovial, UAH and JCCM, selected Orbital Critical Systems  for the design and implementation of a whole data collection and processing system for energy monitoring of buildings. A wireless sensor networks (WSN) solution was selected that is based on a latest generation 6LoWPAN technology (IPv6 over 802.15.4), fully oriented to the Internet of Things (IoT) and Intelligent Networks, allowing nodes to have direct connectivity with any IP device.
Orbital Critical Systems  has developed a whole system of specific hardware platforms for the project, as well as embedded software and a system of collection, normalization and data visualization. The proposed solution is an example of a real, implemented and functional vertical solution to be a success story in the environment of IoT.

The implementation of the project includes:
Measurement sensors: water and electricity consumption, temperature, humidity, light, …
Communication 6LoWPAN nodes based on Contiki OS.
6LoWPAN – Ethernet Gateway
Data logging system.
Data visualization system (SCADA)
